On Saturday, July 8, we are sponsoring an important volunteer trail work day. We’ll be prepping the trails for the 7th Annual Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge. If you own weed whackers or leaf rakes, please bring them with you. After the trail work day, we’ll be hosting our first Apres-Bike Social, beginning at 4:00 PM. There will be live music at our Social, courtesy of The SugarBowl.

TIME: 9:00 a.m. to sign up and get assignments
DURATION: Approximately 5 hours, or sooner if the work is done.

ACTIVITIES: We’ll be prepping the trails for the 7th Annual Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge the following weekend. This will include raking, cutting encroaching brush, etc. We will meet at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center at 9:00 a.m. to get assignments.
ITEMS TO BRING: Water, sturdy gloves and footwear, insect repellent, rain gear (just in case), lunch or snacks, your kids because this is a kid-friendly event (using only light tools), tools you may have available (such as weed whackers, leaf rakes, loppers, pruners), and cell phones so we can communicate issues that pop up.
Our trail work days are open to people of all ages and abilities. All that is required is enthusiasm and a willingness to work together; the club provides direction, tools, and work project locations. We need your help maintaining the beautiful trail network in Carrabassett Valley. Please join us. Trail work days are always fun and productive!
